29th BIEMH: a forum for analysis and debate

The fourth industrial revolution has given rise to what has come to be called “smart factories” or Industry 4.0. Industries are becoming computerised and evolving towards digitising products and their manufacturing, in a system in which all processes are connected and interact with one another.  The 29th BIEMH has featured a broad programme of talks, meetings and presentations that have examined the present and future of the sector.

Firms and organisations such as Siemens, Tecnalia, Houghton Ibérica, Rittal Disprel, S.A., Pilz, Centro de Fabricación Avanzada Aeronáutico [“Advanced Aeronautics Manufacturing Centre”] and SPRI, to name but a few, have promoted debates and discussions that have provided information on large, multi-process machines, additive manufacturing, unification processes, advanced metrology and many other topics that have been well received by the hundreds of attendees.
