The Indian Machine Tool Manufacturers' Association (IMTMA) was formed in the year 1946 and has been for long the apex body in the country representing machine tool manufacturers and is the single point of contact for industry professionals..
Over a period of time the association's membership has grown in size and strength and it has emerged as the voice of the machine tool industry in India. First formed in Mumbai, the Association later shifted its office to New Delhi and then moved to its own premises within the Bangalore International Exhibition Centre in Bengaluru.
In 1969, IMTMA hosted the flagship event ‘IMTEX’ – a leading B2B Machine tool exhibition in South and South East Asia, which is now hosted at the BIEC. The exhibition has grown in size and today is the largest machine tool exhibition in South and South East Asia.
IMTMA also conducts seminars & short-term workshop and also organizes technology missions to various international trade fairs for the benefit of industry CEOs and thus provides a platform to voice the demands of the industry to the government.
The Association also conducts training programs throughout the year, with skill development as its motto. Through various long term and short term training programs the Association bridges the gap between the academia and the industry requirement and equips the working professionals with skills to adapt to the changes in technology in the machine tool industry.
