Bavaria, one of Germany’s most economically successful federal states, will be represented at BIEMH for the second time with a joint stand and six Bavarian companies as exhibitors. Located in the heart of Europe, Bavaria combines a high quality of life and impressive natural landscapes with international economic strength. As one of the world’s leading high-tech locations, Bavaria benefits from a unique mix of innovative family businesses and globally active corporations. This is supported by excellent cooperation between industry, science, and research, which creates a dynamic and future-oriented economic landscape.

The machinery and equipment manufacturing sector is the largest employer in Bavaria, accounting for 17.3 % of the total workforce across the entire manufacturing industry – ahead of the automotive industry. However, with a turnover of € 61.2 billion in 2024, it comes in second place (12.9%) behind the automotive industry (36.5%). Machinery and equipment manufacturing exports account for around two thirds of this figure. As one of the major EU member states, Spain represents an important market for the Bavarian mechanical engineering industry.
