Second official reception for foreign buyers

This morning saw the second official reception for foreign buyers, which featured delegations from Germany, Argentina, Colombia, France, Italy, Portugal, Turkey, Brazil, the USA and Japan among many other countries.

Junichi Otsubo, Head of Development, and Hiroshi Nomura, Chair of the Noah Corporation, stated that they were most satisfied with the opportunity provided by this programme to see for themselves the development of technology in the context of Industry 4.0. “We are looking for new partners and technology for our firm, which specialises in precision cutting tools, and are keen to see in what direction new products are heading in this age of the digitising of processes”, they explained, “and this event is a comprehensive showcase for precisely that”.

Joachim Aigner, head of German machine-tool and tool distributor Nagel, began his tour of the event at the stand of Ibarmia, a company which he considers to be one of the most innovative in the world in his field.  This is Mr. Aigner’s second BIEMH, and he has a full agenda of six meetings with cutting machinery manufacturers with a view to extending his product portfolio. His company has a turnover of €40 million per annum and is highly interested in the milling machines, lathes, drills and machining centres available in Spain because of their high quality.

Mostafa Bagheri, General Manager of Tools Machine Manufacturing Co. from Iran, has also come to the event through the hosted buyers programme organised by the BEC, and is seeking to extend his portfolio of machinery suppliers. His distribution company has a workforce of 40, and works in R&D as well as importing foreign-brand machinery such as Renishaw, Bridgeport, Manford, etc.

For Peter Meher of the EEC Group, an Egyptian-based steel manufacturer, his visit to the BIEMH provides an extra opportunity to contact all his European suppliers under one roof, to see how the market is going and to discover new machinery and technologies in the fields of cutting, shaping, robotics, etc.  The Egyptian economy is undergoing an upturn thanks to investment in infrastructures and civil work.
