Mexico, invited country at the 32nd edition of BIEMH

It will be held from 3 to 7 June at Bilbao Exhibition Centre

Mexico will be the Invited Country at the 32nd edition of the BIEMH, the International Machine Tool Biennial, which will be held from 3 to 7 June at Bilbao Exhibition Centre. This country usually has a very significant presence at the event and represents a strategic market for the industry.

This position has now been enhanced following the signing of the T-MEC and the nearshoring policy it is implementing, and about 50 Mexican purchasing companies have already confirmed their participation. Most of them represent the automotive sector in various states, but professionals from the aerospace, appliance, moulding and distribution sectors have also been confirmed.

The alliance is the fruit of the intense work that BIEMH’s organising team has been doing in Mexico, in collaboration with sectoral associations, local companies and the Basque Trade & Investment (BTI) office in that country. The purpose of these contacts is to cement the link between the event and Mexico, and to promote long-term business relationships between companies exhibiting at the fair and Mexican buyers, and vice versa.

Within this framework, BIEMH’s organisers will offer a webinar about Mexico and the business opportunities it offers weeks before the fair opens; it will be a highly significant meeting that will help to optimise the results of the visit to the fair.

An industrial and technological show with large machines in operation

Large machines in operation will be the star attractions at BIEMH, which will be holding its 32nd edition with a live industrial and technological show. More than two months before its inauguration, the event already has more than 1,300 exhibiting firms registered from 29 countries, including Germany, Italy, Portugal, the USA, Japan and Taiwan.

Moreover, more than 2,500 products and devices from the main sectors have already been confirmed: Manufacture and distribution of machining and deformation apparatus, Metrology, Production Services, Components, Tools and Accessories, as well as Robotics, Automation and Digitalisation. In fact, this year BIEMH will have a differentiated space for the latter three sectors, which reflects its commitment to being a catalyst for the latest trends and advances in the three areas, thus anticipating an edition featuring the highest level of innovation and technology.

The visitor promotion campaign is running successfully in more than 140 countries, notably including Mexico, the United States, Italy, China, Germany, France, Portugal, Turkey, Canada, Switzerland, Finland, Norway, Denmark, India, Poland, United Kingdom, Czech Republic, Slovakia, Algeria, Brazil, Colombia, Chile and Argentina. And as part of this effort, the Hosted Buyers’ Programme will again be a major attraction at the event. This is an initiative that responds to the requests of the exhibitors themselves, thus ensuring the presence of hundreds of strategic professionals with whom they can close business meetings.

The event enjoys a strong network of alliances and works closely with the main user sector associations and with key industry interlocutors and players, which makes it particularly attractive. So far, the response from companies has been very positive and they have shown keen interest in visiting the fair and seizing the opportunities to invest in new competitive solutions.

Moreover, BIEMH will offer a varied programme of activities, including networking spaces and BIEMH Talks. The latter will take place on 4, 5 and 6 June and will convene international experts to explore trends, challenges and solutions in the fields of Automation & Robotics, Additive Manufacturing and Digitalisation. Furthermore, the event will broadcast an interesting live programme on BIEMH TV, which will feature interviews, testimonials from professionals, conference summaries, images of the event, company videos and an agenda of events.

In parallel to the fair, the new editions of BeDIGITAL, a forum devoted to the industrial application of digital technologies, and ADDITƐD, an international trade fair on additive manufacturing and 3D printing, will be held in the BEC’s exhibition halls. Finally, and true to its commitment to developing talent, WORKinn Talent Hub, the gathering for talent and industry, will be held.

BIEMH 2024 is organised by AFM, Machine Tool Manufacturers; AIMHE, Machine Tools Importers and Bilbao Exhibition Centre, with SPRI – Basque Government as an Institutional Partner.
