There is general agreement among exhibitors in their initial assessments after the 1st 4 days of the event: BIEMH 2014 is marked by optimism, new contacts, an increase in the number of trade visitors and the securing of orders. “Tradeshows give rise to orders and material to work on for many months to come”, said David Gatell, General Manager of DMG MORI Ibérica. Mr. Gatell also stressed the mood of optimism prevailing among customers, and the large number of visits to his stand: “after years of hard times a change can be seen: a number of new deals have come up and we have concluded others on which we were already working”.
For his part, Roberto Díez, Head of Sales at Tecoi, also saw things in a positive light. In particular, he highlighted the sale of a machine during the event and the return of small-scale customers: “we have secured an important order, and have made around 50 quotes to small customers. This is a sign that things are moving. Moreover, we have presented a new line of low-cost machines priced at less than €100,000 which have received an extremely good welcome. We are coming out of the event with a large number of preliminary sales deals. Given our customer base we need to be here to meet them, present new products, contact new customers and let them all see how much our company has grown on the international stage in recent years”, he stated.
Koldo Arania, General Manager of IBARMIA had this to say about the attitude of potential purchasers: “Right now their attitude is considerably more positive than in 2012, and they are more willing to look at investments. We have received some interesting queries, focused mainly on specific operations, so we are very satisfied. For us the BIEMH is a very important meeting point for the industry”, he said. Along similar lines, Ignacio Llauradó, European Head of Sales at HITACHI,stressed the value of the event as a forum for holding in-depth talks with customers and consolidating a relationship with them. This is the 2nd time that HITACHI has exhibited at a BIEMH with its own stand.
